The Fat Police are coming
We do not need a Nanny State President Obama! Wanting doctors to report Americans BMI? It seems to me that this goes against the fouteenth amendment, recognizing our fundamental right to privacy, even if it is just children. A childs weight problem should be in the hands of the parents, not the government.
The government also wants to add more taxes to sodas and chips, where does it stop? When they find someone who is overweight are they going to order that person to lose weight?
I am all for losing weight and getting healthy but we do not need the government looking into our medical records and policing what we decide to eat.

Here we go again, making is sound like a police state.
First of all it is a Bill by Rep. Kinder, not Obama. Second the data used to generate a report on the BMI data collected would not include patients’ names, and no one is forced to come in for a doctor’s visit to get their BMI tested. BMI will be taken at times when the child makes an otherwise scheduled doctor’s visit and only if the state wants the grant money. If a state does not like the idea then they should not apply for the grant. On Taxing Soda, chips and more, Heck yes. If a parent is going to allow their kids to get fat and eat and drink crap, we need someone to pay the cost on our medical system and on our society. Your comment about ordering someone to lose weight and the government policing what we decide to eat is crazy and over the top This kind of BS is what FOX NEWS spreads everyday and you are catching the FOX NEWS propaganda disease. Taxing bad habits works for tobacco and alcohol and it will work for the poison our free society allows corporations to sell. I'm glad to hear you support the legalization of marijuana and all drugs, we sure do not want anyone telling us what we can put in our body.
The President would have to sign the bill to make it law!
I know this is going to come as a shock to you but I do not support Palin, I do not want her to run for the POTUS. I do not support her stance on the legalization of Marijuana or any other drugs. As a minister I could not support that.
As for more taxes on Soda, chips and candy, that is a far cry from tobacco and alcohol. They will kill you faster than getting fat on snacks. It would be good if parents could watch what thier children consume but I guess that is asking too much.
And last but not least this information came from looking on the internet, not from Fox News.
